Grand Trailer Park Taverna

Located on one of the main streets in Melbourne, Grand Trailer Park Taverna still somehow manages to stay hidden with nothing but a sign and some steps leading to who knows what. We walked up those steps and were amazed by the size and theme of the venue. Trailers are everywhere! Gutted out with tables and dining booths. A long bar with an endless amount of craft beers! We ordered the giant waffle stack and no kidding this thing is huge! It came with a full bottle of Nutella (not that it needed any more chocolate)! We also ordered some milkshakes (they have a choice of spiked or unspiked)We went for the Salted Caramel Bourbon and Maple Bacon and Mozart White and Milk Chocolate Smores. Both were yummy :-)This place is fun. It’s got a great vibe and really made me feel like i was travelling in a different city.Burgers are also absolutely delicious here. Try the one with Mac N Cheese…it is heaven! Definitely recommend this place. Why are you still reading this?? Go now!!

The Drunken Bear :-)

Is'nt it funny that they give literally the whole tub of Nutella? haha.

You can add some alcohol in milkshakes too!

Pay as you feel cafe Lentil As Anything

I am sure that anyone ,who has lived in Melbourne, has heard of this place called Lentil As Anything. It’s a not for profit vegetarian restaurant . Anyone can have a delicious dish paying as they feel. Most staff in this restaurant are volunteers but some of them are not. Even though It’s an unpaid job for some staff who are from other countries, they seem to enjoy their jobs with smiles

Currently It has a total of 6 branches, St Kilda, Thornbury, Preston, Abbotsford, Footscray, Newtown. 5 of them are all over Melbourne and the other one is in Sydney.

The Drunken Bear proudly filmed one of its branches as we are regulars . The place that we went to was Abbotsford convent which is the biggest. It was buffet style. Therefore a wide range of food was in a row and people lined up for the scrumptious vegetarian food. However, they also do customer service too for drinks and breakfast and some weekdays too.

The food always rotates everyday so It could be very random so you might as well check out the menu from the Lentil’s as anything website before you go.

The menu we had was Basil Pesto Pasta, Five Spiced Cake with Orange Syrup,Rendang Curry, Vietnamese Salad, Baba Ganoush, Brown Rice.

Everything was absolutely fantastic! Whenever we go to Lentils’, we feel like we could become vegetarian if we could eat meals like this everyday.

I really wish this kind of concept cafes exist more in other countries too one-day.

The Drunken Bear :)

They do Everyday Breakfast too! :)

This is the Money Tin. After having a great yummy meal, feel free to contribute to their business!

Freaky Milkshakes at Johnny Pump Cafe

On a freezing windy morning in Essendon we headed to Johnny Pump cafe.
We had to wait a few minutes for a seat as the place was a full house.
We managed to secure a seat outside.
In hindsight going to get a milkshake while sitting outside in the freezing cold wasn't our best idea.
However when the milkshakes came out i must admit i was impressed.
The presentation was beautiful.
I had the strawberry with banana bread and Rachel went for Butterscotch choc chip cookie with lamington.
For only 7 bucks they were big enough to call a meal.
The taste of the actual milkshake wasn't anything special. Quite simple actually.
On the plus side the banana bread was really yum and the cookies on Rachels were very tasty indeed.
If you want to go to this place i suggest going in summer as there seems to be a bit of a wait to get a seat.
Overall i think our experience was tainted by the weather but i imagine on a hot summers day this milkshake will do the trick!

Prudence Bar - North Melbourne

We decided to head back to the place Rachel and I first met. Prudence Bar.
Nearby the Vic Markets Prudence Bar is a great addition to a tour of Melbourne.
It sums up Melbourne's bar culture with its design and style.
It hosts an outdoor beer garden and upstairs there are many private booths.
They have many craft beers on tap.
We went for 4 Pines Pale Ale and Prudence lager. Both tasted great!
We also tried some cocktails. We went for the Tall Oppy and Big Bison, both were delicious and refreshing.
Expect some funky records being played in the background (think James Brown)
And also feel free to grab some random boardgames which they have on offer for free.
This bar is a great place to hang with friends or maybe meet some new friends.
Staff are friendly hipsters and patrons vary with every style seeming to fit in here.
Highly recommend this bar for a great chill out spot to hang around talking HIMYM style :-)

Come out to this little cute beer garden !
